[KB] Particular citation question

Hi, Francesca--

These are good questions! I come across the situation fairly often (with *KB
Journal* and Parlor Press). The short answer is that although there may be
some variations in the format of the U of California books, they are
internally the same with respect to core text but may include supplemental
content (like an Afterword). In citing those works, though, you can just
cite the edition and year of publication. One goal is to keep it simple.
Here are some examples:

*Counter-Statement*. 1931. U of California P, 1968.
*Attitudes Toward History*. 1937. 3rd ed., U of California P, 1984.
*Permanence and Change: An Anatomy of Purpose*. 1935., 3rd ed., U of
California P, 1984.

(This is MLA 8th style.)

That's how I'd answer your questions, anyway!
