Upcoming English lectures could heavily reference Kenneth Burke
On February 4, the University of Houston uploaded an article on their webpage announcing that John Briggs, Professor at University of California, Riverside, will be lecturing mid February. Briggs is Director of the University Writing Program at UCR, and although his primary focus of studies is President Abraham Lincoln and Shakespeare, the announcement shares that his primary use of deconstructing and analyzing the works of both these men, were the philosophies of Kenneth Burke. His lectures as a result could carry heavy themes of Burkean thought and would be intriguing to listen to.
