I have been wondering about this novel for some time, its subtitle, "Being a Series of Epistles, or Declamations," and Burke's statement in the preface to the second edition that the novel consists of "early stylistic exercises." Does anyone know if anyone has studied this novel through the lens of style, Quintilian, and declamatory practice?
