Fellow Burkeans,
Time for blatant self-promotion. My new book, Angels and Demons: The Personification of Communication (Logology) is now available through Say Press publisher of books in the field of Communication or Amazon and many other outlets. This is a thorough Burkean analysis of the logological nature of angels and demons, in light of the Jewish scholar G. F. Moore who equates the terms angel, spirit, and word in Rabbinic Literature of the early Christian centuries. All Hebrew and Greek citations are accompanied by English translation, so that it is easy to follow. Turns out, as I argue, the Ancient Jews, the Rabbinic Jews, and the New Testament writers developed the concepts of angels and demons more as an early logology than a theology.
While I am in the self-promotion business, I will cite an unsolicited email I recently received from a scholar who had used my Burke Concordance in her doctoral dissertation:
“Your ConciseKenneth Burke Concordance was so helpful tome when I completed my dissertation a couple of years ago, and I wanted to takea moment to thank you for writing it! It was a lifesaver! . . . I hope youare well, and thanks again for putting such a fabulous resource into the world."
[The Expanded Kenneth Burke Concordance is now available to Burkeans at half-price through Say Press, by including the code KBS in an email.]
